This week The Pink Logs took time out of their busy schedule to rock out with some LA's finest on the Hollywood walk of fame about the economy and their opinions on the 700 billion dollar bailout. Unfortunately, they didn't get a lot of positive feedback, but they did get a lot of requests for pizza and beer.

Lisa Miskovsky -
Mirrors Edge (Teddybears Remix) (Universal)
Lisa Miskovsky started in the business as a singer/songwriter and had
her first taste of success in 2000 when she wrote "Shape of My
Heart" for the Backstreet
Boys. That song broke the record for most weeks at No.
1 on the Canadian AC chart with a stay of 14 weeks and holds the
record for most first-day spins on Top 40 radio. With a hit under her
belt, Lisa released her debut album in 2001. The result was two
Swedish Rock Bear awards for her debut single "Driving One of Your
Cars" and album Lisa Miskovsky, one for Best Swedish
Newcomer and one for Best Swedish Female Artist of the Year. In 2003,
she released Fallingwater and saw it climb to No. 1 on the
Swedish pop charts, eventually earning platinum status. Some of the
tracks off Fallingwater were produced by Joakim
Berg, who is best known for his songwriting with Kent.
Lisa is back on the scene with her latest, "Mirrors Edge
(Teddybears
Remix)." This song is from the Mirror's
Edge video game, created by EA games, which is
scheduled to be released on November 11th on Playstation 3
and Xbox 360. For additional details on Lisa, you can go to

Gin Wigmore - Under My Skin (Island Records)
New Zealand has had their share of success in the music world. They
have birthed the careers of The
Datsuns, Bic
Runga, Neil
Finn, the Strawpeople
and now the trend will continue with Gin. Gin is a singer/songwriter
born in Auckland who began writing songs at the tender age of 13. At
age 16, she wrote the song "Hallelujah" about the pain of losing
her father to cancer. With that song, she won the 2004 International
Songwriting Competition over 11,000 other competitors from 77
countries and became the youngest and only unsigned Grand Prize
winner in the history of the contest. Vocally, she is a bit of Macy
Gray, a touch of Blondie
and a hint of Edith
Piaf, where musically she is between Feist
and Fiona
Apple. "My stories are simple because I want to
reach people," Gin says. "But at the same time I like to bring
mystery. Sometimes we all need to ask: How? Why?" Her first EP
offering, Extended Play, was released by Island Records in Australia
in August and immediately landed in New Zealand's Top 10. Extended
Play is produced by Tony
Buchen (Blue
King Brown, Macromantics)
and says "Gin presents her songs with a voice of contradiction."
He explains "It is raspy yet delicate, forceful and fragile." Gin
toured with Pete
Murray in late summer and will be touring with
John
Mellencamp and Sheryl
Crow in New Zealand this December. Check out Gin's
websites at http://myspace.com/ginwigmore

EAGLES OF DEATH
METAL SOAR TO THE TOP: SoCal desert rats Eagles of Death Metal
leap 4-1 on the Mediaguide Alternative Specialty Song chart this week
with "Wannabe in L.A.," the first effort from their forthcoming
album Heart On (Rekords Rekords/Downtown, out October 28); in
addition, the song picks up enough spins to ascend 9-3 on the Album
end. EODM main man Jesse Hughes and company, this time supplemented
by Queens of the Stone Age leader Josh Homme on drums, begin a tour
to support the new album on October 30 in Seattle; for full dates and
further info on all things EODM, surf over to
www.myspace.com/eaglesofdeathmetal.
Meanwhile, demonstrating the fickleness of the panel is The Streets,
who plummet 1-15 on the Song side with "Everything is Borrowed,"
the title track of Mike Skinner's new album (679/Vice), which falls
all the way out of the Top 20 after holding the top spot last week.
Wha'happened, folks? Maintaining position in second place on the
Song side is new James Bond theme "Another Way to Die," which
occupies the runner-up spot for the second straight week; looks like
the collaboration between Jack White and Alicia Keys is showing some
staying power while also helping the full soundtrack, Music from the
Motion Picture Quantum Solace (Third Man), to a Top 5 debut on the
Album end at No.5. Top debut honors on the Song side this week go to
London-based lounge/electronica maven The Real Tuesday Weld, who,
name to the contrary, is actually helmed by Stephen Coates. The song
"Last Words" bows at No.6 this week, helping full-length The
London Book of the Dead (Six Degrees) to a No.16 showing on the
Album end. The only other new song in the Top 10 this week is
"G.L.O.W.," the self-released number from venerable Alt act
Smashing Pumpkins, which just sneaks in at No.10.
