The Pink Logs seem to be on top of the "Things to See in Beverly Hills" list these days. "Forget Lindsay, Britney and Paris, it's all about The Logs" said KBBY/Ventura's Music Director/Midday personality Keli Reynolds. As Keli spent a daycation with The Pink Logs, they took in meetings, she watered them and showed them her brand new car.

Take a look at your desk. Clear away the memos and the folders that you haven't opened in days and look for a manila envelope. Do you see it? Not the one with the coffee stains on it...the one that has new music in it! If you can't locate it on the garbage pile that you call a desk, let us know and we'll send one off to you. For those that are organized and know what we are talking about, this is what you should be in possession of:

Duffy - Warwick
Avenue (A&M/Mercury)
By
now you are familiar with the first two singles from Duffy,
"Rockferry" and "Mercy." After winning over fans from her
performances at SXSW and Coachella, Duffy is back with her third
single, "Warwick Avenue." Just last year she was signed to A&M
and since then, she has been a staple on VH-1, her music featured on
the TV shows ER,
Smallville,
the season finale of Grey's
Anatomy and
the soundtrack to the movie, Sex
And The City.
Rumor has it that she is one of the finalists to be chosen to sing
the title song for the next Bond flick, Quantum of Solace, in
theatres this November.

The Anomalies - The
Predator Rap (Unsigned)
Did you ever want to
watch an entire movie in less than 10 minutes, delete the boring
scenes and add a kick ass rap to narrate the movie? Well, that's
exactly what The Anomalies did with the 1987 Schwarzenegger movie,
The Predator. Utilizing influences that range from
guitar-driven indie rock and old-school hip-hop all the way back to
1940s swing and big band (plus a healthy dollop of James Brown and
Happy Mondays), MCs Mouthmaster Murf and Sam Meehan, a.k.a. Goldseal,
are ably complemented by the aptly named DJ Mayhem as they concoct a
potent mixture of music that's just about impossible to neatly
pigeonhole into any one genre. The trio has been touring for more
than three years now (augmented by a bassist, drummer and human
beatbox for live performances) and recently supported the ultra-hip
underground sensations Dan Le Sac and Scroobius Pip on a very
successful UK tour. After you check out this genius video concept,
check out their other music which we think you will enjoy just as
much at http://www.the-anomalies.co.uk/.

"GEEKS" REBOUND,
RECLAIM NO.1: Not unlike a well-matched bout of boxing, for the
past month a pair of acts has been slugging it out for dominance of
the Mediaguide Alternative Specialty Song chart, trading blows--and
the top spot--each and every week. This week, Omaha-based indie
darlings The Faint came out on top with "The Geeks Were Right,"
supplanting the act that had, in turn, taken over from them the week
before: Alt godfathers the Verve fell to No.2 with their comeback
single, "Love is Noise." That makes four weeks in a row that the
two songs have flip-flopped in the No.1 and No.2 positions. This
week's tiebreaker goes to Album standing, which the Faint wins
handily, clocking in at No.3 with Fasciinatiion (blank.wav),
while the Verve's Four (On Our Own) tumbles all the way down
to No.6 from its pole position last week. Both acts trail this week's
re-crowned No.1, Beck's Modern Guilt (Interscope), with the
majority of airplay going to "Gamma Ray," which lands at No.6 on
the Song side. Top debut on the Album end belongs to CSS with Donkey
(Sub Pop), which bows at No.2 thanks to heavy airplay for "Rat is
Dead (Rage)," which debuts at No.5 on the Song chart. The only
other artist to debut in the Top 10 on the Song chart this week is
venerable UK trip-hop master Tricky, who checks in at No.4 with
"Council Estate," the first single from the forthcoming Knowle
West Boy (Domino) which, though already available in the UK,
won't be released in North America until September 9. A baby band
made an initial appearance in the Top 10 on the Album index this
week, though: The Airborne Toxic Event lands at No.7 with their
eponymous debut disc (Majordomo), thanks to numerous spins for
"Sometime around Midnight," which is No.11 on the Song side.
