Pink Logs

Ah, what can be said about Bonnaroo this year that hasn't been said already? Yes, it was hot. Sure, the bands were great. Unfortunately, Kanye was 2 hours late! Anyway, we had a blast and finally got our pictures developed and thought we'd share. The pictures include: The Planet Roo Hand, Mexicolas, Crystal Method, Cat Power, Mylo & Calvin Harris and two random Grandmothers who were there to rock for The Pink Logs!

MP3 Justin Brogdon - Everything (Unsigned)

Unable to be encapsulated by a single title, Justin Brogdon is many forms of an artist; a singer, a guitarist, a songwriter and an entertainer. Listeners become captivated by the familiarity of the unfolding story lines in his songs, which share his perception of the daily tribulations in the lives, which we all lead. Drawing from his own personal experiences with life, Justin creates a storyboard of imagery, one that includes pain, heartache, love and passion. Brogdon and his southern all-star band will have you joy riding with him and your friends in with this summer time anthem. Fans of Sister Hazel, Jason Mraz and Train will soon be loyal listeners of Justin Brogdon. To obtain more on Brogdon, check out his MySpace or http://www.justinbrogdon.com.

The Confusions - The Logo (Massproduktion)

From the sizzling Scandinavian musical hotbed of Sweden come the Confusions, who over the course of a decade have cemented their reputation as one of Sweden's cleverest musical exports. A quintet that includes vocalist/guitarist Mikael Andersson-Knut, keyboardist/vocalist Zarah Edstrom, drummer Mattias Lofstrom, guitarist Henrik Svensson and bassist Magnus Thorsell, the Confusions released their first album, Everyone's Invited, in 1996, receiving rapturous reviews from the notoriously fussy UK press; Record Collector magazine called the album "a wondrous debut," while Melody Maker ranked the Confusions ahead of like-minded UK brethren Ocean Colour Scene. In March, the five-piece released The Story Behind The Story, featuring the single "The Logo." This song is both a lyrical and musical journey that will grab your attention from the very first note and have you holding with a tight grip until the end. While watching the video, see if the logos that you wear appear.

Chart Analysis

Chart Analysis SEQUESTERED AT NO.1: Brooklyn-based hipster faves The Hold Steady bow at No.1 on the Mediaguide Alternative Specialty Song chart this week with "Sequestered in Memphis," the lead single from the forthcoming Stay Positive (Vagrant), which debuts at No.4 on the Album index. The album hits retail July 15, two days after the sometimes sextet wraps up a week-long hit-and-run UK touring jaunt, to be followed by a month of criss-crossing the United States. Visit www.theholdsteady.com for info on when they'll be reaching your neck of the woods. Hot on the heels of The Hold Steady are Icelandic art-rockers Sigur Ros, who debut at No.2 on the Song side this week with "Gobbledigook"--perhaps a sly dig at critics who don't like the made-up language they tend to employ lyrically. The full album, which just came out this week and employs the inventive title With a Buzz in Our Ears We Play Endlessly (XL), also comes in just behind The Hold Steady at No.5 on the Album end. We'd be remiss if we didn't mention the spectacular comeback by Alt originator Billy Idol, who debuts at No.6 this week with "John Wayne," a bonus track on the greatest hits compilation The Very Best of Billy Idol: Idolize Yourself (Capitol), which just hit stores this week and comes in at No.17 on the Album chart. And speaking of Capitol, a bittersweet week for the folks at the Tower: in the midst of widespread layoffs throughout EMI, Coldplay sold a spectacular 700,000+ copies of Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends, easily the best-selling amount for a rock act in quite some time. Coldplay also wrested the top spot on the Album index away from My Morning Jacket, whose Evil Urges (ATO) stays strong at No.2.

And, on a personal side note, we'd like to offer up a toast to the spirit of the late, great comedian and social commentator George Carlin, who died due to heart problems on Sunday. One of the most influential voices of his generation, the man referred to as "the Philosopher Carlin" by the writer Robert Anton Wilson will truly be missed.
