It's not a party
unless the Pink Logs are spotted and that was the case over the
weekend when the Pink Logs were seen at the wedding between pop
singer Ashlee Simpson & Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz in
Encino, California. Other guests included older sister Jessica
Simpson and Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Tony Romo and some other
people that really didn't matter much to the media. Due to
contracts with other publications, we weren't allowed to publish
any pictures from the wedding, but we were allowed to post pictures
of the pre & post parties. Enjoy.

Blow-Up -
John Travolta (Time/Rise Records)
Disco is not dead; in
fact, it's very much alive. Paolo Cilione and Claudio Camaione are
Blow-Up, the team that produces, remixes and are artists themselves a
la the Neptunes.
Blow-Up has done music for/with Blondie,
Rod
Stewart, The
Flaming Lips, Yoko
Ono and Madonna.
Besides their remixing and production work, Blow-Up has also made
noise with their debut single "John Travolta." This infectious
track is already getting attention from worldwide tastemakers,
including "Passport Approved" on Indie 103.1FM Los Angeles. The
tune has been included to the soundtrack of the Italian blockbuster
movie Natale In Crociera and has been added to DJ set lists
across Europe. Blow-Up is originally from Italy, but is now based in
New York City and currently recording in Los Angeles. Feel free to
put on your dancing shoes and let loose to "John Travolta" and

Big Linda "I Don't
Even Like You" (Ursa Major Records)
Okay, first things
first: there are no females in this four-piece band from London,
England...larger than life or otherwise. Though shrouded in mystery,
the group's genesis came about at Metropolis Studios, where drummer
Geoff Holroyde hooked up with guitarist Patrick Murdoch and started
jamming together. Producer Andy Wright then introduced
the lads to a mysterious benefactor, who flew them to the Caribbean
isle of Antigua for a recording session. There they met and added
Italian-born bassist Vezio Bacci to the lineup while also acquiring
their name, which stemmed from said benefactor's nightly...um,
conversations...with a local madam bearing the name Big Linda.
Upon returning to England they found the final piece of the puzzle,
vocalist Rob Alder, and went into the studio with Oasis producer Paul
Stacey to record debut disc I Loved You, which was released
through Ursa Major/Sony in November. Hailed by London's Guardian
as "the very caterwauling essence of rock & roll," Big
Linda has already received two film placements in major movies and
strong radio support on KDLD Los Angeles; KNRK Portland, OR; WHHZ
Gainesville, FL; Motor FM Germany and Xfm London. Check out their
hilarious video for "I Don't Even Like You."

LAST SHADOW PUPPETS
REIGN SUPREME: More than a month after its release, "The Age of
the Understatement," the title track of their Domino Records
side-project album from Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys and Miles Kane
of the Rascals, ascends to the top spot on the Mediaguide Alternative
Specialty Song chart, helping the full album from The Last Shadow
Puppets claim the No.2 slot on the Album end. Punters across the pond
will be able to check them out live in August, when they perform at
both the Leeds and Reading festivals in England. Slipping a slot to
No.2 on the Song side is Santogold with "L.E.S. Artistes," while
her eponymous album from Downtown Records stays strong at No.3 on the
Album end. Seattle quartet Death Cab for Cutie, meanwhile, remains
atop the Album chart with Narrow Stairs (Atlantic), thanks to
not one, but a pair of tunes on the Song side: "Cath..." at No.12
and the haunting "I Will Possess Your Heart" at No. 14.
Louisville longhairs My Morning Jacket maintain their positions on
both charts, with "Touch Me I'm Going To Scream Part II"
ranking at No.3 on the Song side, while full-length Evil Urges
(out June 10 on ATO) hangs strong at No.5 on the Album end.
Meanwhile, electro mavens Ladytron boast a pair of fours...single
"Ghosts" (Nettwerk) occupies that position not only on the Song
side, but also on the Album end. Top debut honors this week belong to
She & Him, the new project from actress/singer Zooey Deschanel
and renowned indie rocker M. Ward, with first single "Why Do You
Let Me Stay Here?" bowing at No.5 on the Song side, helping
full-length Volume One (Merge) to a No.8 showing on the Album
end. Also making a splash this week is Atmosphere with "You" at
No.7 on the Song chart, helping the marvelously titled When Life
Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold (Rhymesayers) to a
No.12 showing on the Album index.
