I
received a pleasantly annoying e-mail last week from an industry
veteran/specialty show programmer who had a few critiques in regards
to the hushhush ATTACK! newsletter. Imagine that. Dear Editor: “Now
that I've seen many of these I feel that in your chart rap up report
you do the same thing all the trades have done over the years,
mentioning the same stations week after week. Don't get me wrong, I
really don't care ya’ know, but forget about me, I'm sure there
are others, other than the same old suspects, that's why no one will
ever take this seriously. My ego-I'm tough, but think of all the
other persons you are ignoring probably have bruised egos, LOL. ...Stop
pumping me up in your e-mails. Just send music-don't promote me.”
Dear reader, I agree. Having worked with radio at R&R &
the now defunct Album Network over the years it was all about
the monitored big markets stations and giving them as much “ink”
as possible. But I must ask, how am I pumping you up (pun intended)?
Quite frankly, I find this portion of the weekly newsletter boring
and tedious myself. BUT just for YOU we’re going to mix up call
letters starting this week. “North American Scum” returns
to #1 again this week on the Mediaguide Songs and Albums chart with
support from: KACV Amarillo, TX, WAWL Chattanooga, TN &
WBTZ Burlington, VT - Plattsburgh, NY among many others.
Regular rotation play on Sound of Silver at KLSU Baton
Rouge, LA, WRAS Atlanta, GA & KWVA Eugene -
Springfield, OR. Are you happy now?!?! Moving on, the flow is
heavy right now and programmers are going whacky with the amount of
material hitting their desks. Case in point… New chart debuts
this week from: Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Ponys,
The Used & Wilco. Enough, I’m tired.

Corner of Sneaker Pimps AKA IAMX is hotly tipped
for US success and is currently playing a string of dates (mostly
sold-out) at tastemaker clubs here in the states. hushhush ATTACK!
has been following IAMX since last year, but unfortunately missed the
jam packed Safari Sam’s (LA) show earlier this month.
Rumor has it the show was brilliant. If you’re traveling
through NY, IAMX will be playing The Knitting Factory on March
30th & The Mercury Lounge on April 2nd.
Purchase tickets now as these shows are destined to sell out. Take a
listen to “Spit It Out” from The Alternative out
on Acute Records. Early US play spotted at KVGS Las Vegas,
NV.

Taratata:
The Blood Arm and Plastiscines
hushhush
ATTACK! has had the pleasure of seeing The Blood Arm play live a few
times over the last couple of years; Once in England and the other
time on their home turf (Los Angeles) for the Detour
festival. The boys and girl are constantly touring overseas and are
now doing so in support of their BRILLIANT full-length Lie Lover
Lie.
Here is a clip of The Blood Arm playing with Plastiscines on the
French TV show, Taratata which airs on the network France 4 and is
repeated partially by France 3. Enjoy.

Shall I continue? Okay, I’ll stop. Curious what the hell that
was all about? Allow me to elaborate. They are all categories listed
on this week’s blog-in selection called Twelve
Major Chords,
an Australian blog that specializes in… well, I don’t
really know. However I have found some very interesting bands
through this website and also quite enjoy reading their infamous
“Twelve Major Questions” in which they interview
Australian music industry professionals and musicians and ask them,
yes you guessed it, twelve questions! Forgive our lack of
concrete information (see: facts) on this website but trust us that
is kicks ass, or don’t trust us and just pretend like you do.
